Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and Me

Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and Me

So, weird news. I have cancer. But, it’s a good kind of cancer, or at least, it’s a curable cancer. I take an immense amount of comfort in this fact, so no freaking out! You hear me? Because I’m not.

I have Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. I don’t really know much about it other than it’s the “better” lymphoma, and it’s currently sitting in my chest, in tumor form, making it hard to breathe. Brig and I knew I needed to go in to see the doctor a few weeks ago because the bump we found in my neck on New Year’s Eve got bigger. A lot bigger. Like, the size of a big marble to the size of a baseball in about 8 weeks. Needless to say, I was introduced to my oncologist quickly.

The last month has been a blur as I have had a bunch of doctor visits, tests, and scans done. It seems like I’m in some kind of medical facility every day! Truthfully it’s been about 3x a week for the past 4 weeks. And, after all of those tests, here are the facts:

  1. I have Hodgkin’s Lymphoma

  2. My cancer is in Stage 2

  3. I have a giant tumor in my neck and chest (which explains a LOT of things)

  4. I’m going to have chemotherapy, which means:

    1. I will be freaking tired a lot

    2. Sometimes I’ll feel sick

    3. I will lose my hairs (they’ll come back!)

    4. I’ll have chemo brain. Start forgiving me now.

    5. I’m gonna need a great craft to keep me busy on chemo days. Crochet maybe?

    6. Brig’s going to be a busy bee- caretaker and money maker, daddy and hubby. Love on that guy for me.

    7. Olivia will keep being cute.

  5. We’ll be staying in Greenville during treatment. We have the most incredible friends out here helping us through this! Family will be coming too when they can.

  6. We’ll be doing Chemotherapy for about 6 months. 2018 will be The Year of the Chemo.

I’m going to try and write through all this, share some funny stories and pictures. So, if you want, I’ll post when I have a new thought up on my Instagram. Feel free to ask me questions if you want, we’re not being secretive or bugged by all this. Give me time to respond, I’m not always with my phone because I need to focus on Livie and Brig, but I will get to you!

Until next time,
